Job Description
HRIS SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST (BSA), Human Resources (HR), to analyze requirements, design and develop effective solutions, and align technology with business strategies, working directly with customers in HR, the MIT community, IS&T, and Finance. Will develop an understanding of business policies/procedures of the HR functional areas; develop, maintain, and execute reports for business users; develop, coordinate, and conduct testing for system support/enhancements; develop training materials, implementation plans, and change management strategies; collaborate with stakeholders to research and document HR business processes/procedures; proactively recommend new technologies; lead small-to medium-technology projects; provide system support to and communicate effectively with a variety of users; report on and analyze data; analyze, develop, modify, maintain, and document database applications; provide hands-on troubleshooting and training; ensure the confidentiality of HR data; and serve as liaison between HR and other departments, teams, and external vendors.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field; seven years’ relevant business systems analysis experience; commitment to safeguarding confidential data; excellent organizational, analytical, communication, teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; initiative; and experience using a variety of reporting tools (e.., Cognos and Tableau) and cloud applications (e.g., SuccessFactors). Must be able to fully understand business processes and translate business requirements and regulations to functional and technical solutions; communicate complex ideas with diverse audiences, including writing, presenting, and assessing needs; quickly learn new technologies and business processes; collaborate with others; and lead small-to-medium projects. PREFERRED: advanced degree; experience with HR data, systems, and metrics; direct experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems; and experience in a higher education or large nonprofit setting.
